By [Zachary Taylor]
Boston: Printed and Published by William Elder, at his General Printing Rooms, 1850. Very Good. Boston: Printed and Published by William Elder, at his General Printing Rooms, 1850. Pictorial broadside (38x25cm) adorned with engraved portrait and printed within decorative border. Light wear, a few creases, old horizontal fold; Very Good.

Unrecorded broadside commemorating President Zachary Taylor, who died in office in 1850 after consuming cherries and iced milk at a fundraiser at the Washington Monument, at the time still under construction. The text includes a brief biography, records of his victories in the Mexican War, and an unflattering description of his death, mentioning "bilious diarrhea" [sic indeed]. Also of particular note is the quote from Hamlet above the funeral services: "He was a Man, take him for all in all, We shall not look upon his like again."
