Seattle, Washington: The Industrial Worker. [Industrial Workers of the World / I.W.W. / IWW], 1927. First Edition. Pamphlet. Good +. 172 [+3 ads] pp. Octavo [21.5 cm]; side-stapled in illustrated wraps. Previous owner's name ("John Lind | Duluth | Minn.") neatly written in black ink on the front inside wrap. Some notes in pencil on the recto of the front flyleaf. Bumped at the head and foot of the spine. Some general creasing, staining, soiling. Still, a solid copy. The previous owner's marking ("John Lind | Duluth | Minn.") on this pamphlet is likely that of the long-time IWW affiliate, John Lind, who authored several articles and other works on labor and the IWW (see Miles #1944 & #1945) — and rather not likely the marking of the fourteenth governor of Minnesota who also happened to be named John Lind (1854-1930) and had some run-ins with the Wobblies during his time.

Divided into 32 chapters and illustrated with 26 black and white photographs throughout, this work explores "the story of the persecution of labor, with a long list of examples." Adverts for other IWW publications, including a full-page ad for The Industrial Worker ("Official Western Organ of the Industrial Workers of the World — Crisp News from the Labor Front! — Militant, Fearless and Uncompromising"), at the rear. Miles 4058.
