Some splitting (less than one inch) at the fold at the head and foot of the wraps. Internal age toning. Light wear to edges and corners with some small bumps, chips, and splits. Corners bumped with a few tiny losses there, not affecting text or images. Clean and unmarked text. A good copy of this rare first issue. This is the first issue of the IWW's official monthly editorial publication, The Industrial Pioneer. The Industrial Pioneer ran from February 1921 to September 1926 (although publication was suspended from February 1922 to April 1923). This first issue features serial fiction, journalistic articles, international dispatches, activist strategy, short fiction, poetry, and cartoons (including two by cartoonist "Dust" Wallin on page 11 "Poor Marksmanship" and on page 48 "Farmer John Reads Between the Lines"). The cartoonist "Dust" Wallin was "known as 'the Gustave Doré of the IWW' because of his conceptual richness and engraving-like detail" (www.cartooningcapitalism.com/iww-cartoons). Miles 4756.
