By Foster-Melliar, R[obert] A[ubrey]
New York: E.P. Dutton & Company. Very Good+. [1915]. First American Edition. Hardcover. (no dust jacket) [a good sound copy with just light wear to the extremities, modest age-toning to edges of text block, old bookseller's rubber-stamp on front pastedown (Bertrand Smith Acres of Books, Long Beach, Cailfornia)]. First published in English by Hurst & Blackett in 1914, this was the first of this author's several novels. It was described in a contemporary newspaper item as "a study of a most uncommon man, tracing his career from childhood to maturity, and incidentally showing the influences which are brought to bear on his actions in which several women have a share." Much of the action takes place in Cornwall, with additional locations being Oxford, London, and Paris. Very uncommon, for what it's worth: OCLC records just two copies, both at the British Library. .
