Los Angeles: Times-Mirror Press. Very Good in Very Good dj. (c.1935). First Edition. Hardcover. [modest shelfwear only, front hinge a little weak, one illustrated plate has come loose; the jacket has some very shallow paper loss along the top edge, and is very faded along the spine]. (color front., B&W photo, 16 B&W illus. plates) INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper: "To / Dear Jane And Bubbles / In remembrance / William S. Hart." Seventeen tales of the Old West, by the great silent-film cowboy star. The first inscribee was Jane Novak, Hart's co-star in five films between 1918 and 1921, and at one time his fiancée; "Bubbles" is unknown to me, but might refer to Jane's daughter Mickell aka Mickey, from whose collection this book was acquired. Signed by Author .
