México, D.F.: Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes, CONACULTA; Tijuana, BC : Centro Cultural Tijuana,, CECUT, 2009. This novel has as its protagonist Oscar, a writer who wants to tell the stories behind the transformations and paraphernalia of the transvestite world. To achieve this, he travels through the meeting places of this community and delves, through interviews with several peculiar characters, into the reasons that have led them to live and seek another body and identity. Little by little and without noticing it, Oscar begins to be part of that world – in the midst of well-measured humorous accents and the excessive amazement of those who question themselves – and to suffer Paulina's slights and heartbreaks, a clear example of transgression. This work deserved the Binational Young Novel Award Frontera de Palabras / Border of Words 2009.
