INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author at the upper right corner of the front endpaper: "for Harold & Leslie / fondly / Charlie / 1959." Novel that "ranges from '21' in New York to the bullrings of Spain and Mexico, as Jason Kirk, sports correspondent for a large news syndicate, follows the public and private career of the first sword of Spain, Rodrigo Andrade." The author was also a screenwriter, with several dozen credits to his; his last screen credit, for THE BARBARIAN AND THE GEISHA, appeared the same year as this book.
