Nancy: Chez Pierre Antoine, 1734. Revised Edition. Hardcover. Quarto, five volumes. In Good condition. Bound in full brown leather with gilt lettering and ornamentation to spines and edges. Paneled spines have cracking, a loss of leather to some spine head/tails, exposing the end bands. Volume 1 spine is missing both endbands. Volume 3 spine is missing the head endband. Volume 4 spine is missing the tail endband. Boards have cracking to joints, significant discoloration, scuff marks and soiling throughout, bumping to fore corners, denting to edges, and rubbing wear. Additional leather has been added to repair the fore corners and some edges. Textblocks have several previous owner’s signatures to the title pages, stains and soiling scattered throughout, tears to edges of some pages throughout, light age toning, wear to edges, and red speckling to edges. Volume 1 has ink writing to the front free end page, significant soiling to the verso of the half-title page and title page, and to the bottom corner of pages iv and v. Volume 2 has white pencil marks to the front free end page. Volume 3 has ink writing to the front pastedown, and an archival repair to page 962. Shelved in Room A Oversized.
