Norristown, Pennsylvania: Graphitti Designs / Comico The Comic Company, 1987. Limited Edition. Large Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 0x0x0. Steacy, Ken. Signed by author. Signed by illustrator. Limited edition, #124 of 1500 copies signed and hand numbered on limitation page by author and illustrator. An excellent copy. 1987 Large Hardcover. [96 pp.] From the jacket: 'Many eons ago, when I first discovered there was such a thing as science fiction, like everyone else I was knocked out by the 'integrated universe' concept as manifested in Robert Heinlein's 'Future History' series, Isaac Asimov's 'Foundation' yarns and, later by Larry Niven's 'Known Space' books. In terms of comics, the Kree-Skrull war stuff tickled the same risibility and though I hate sequels, and have never written them, I did write independent stories set against the backdrop of Earth's ten-generation-long war with an alien race known as the Kyben. We've used five of those early stories for Night and the Enemy, several of which have been out-of-print for more than twenty-five years. Then I wrote a special framing device to link them. And for this special hardcover edition from the remarkable Graphitti, I've written a brand-new 3600-word story, 'The Few, The Proud,' illustrated with one of the best Ken Steacy paintings he's ever done. Here, with considerable satisfaction, is the chronicle of the War.
