Battle Creek, Michigan: Postum Co., Inc, 1927. Very good.. A 1920's children's story book published by the Postum Co., advertising the brand's cereals to American families. Postum, or Post today, was founded in Battle Creek Michigan by C.W. Post and was among the first to capitalize on the "health food" cereal craze in the early 1900s. The present booklet shows children where their breakfast cereal comes from by telling the story of wheat: "Jack brought some heads of wheat to school one day. The wheat grew on his Uncle's farm. Jack had been to the farm for a visit. He had seen the wheat growing in the field. The school was in the city and the other children had never seen any wheat growing. So Miss Niles, the teacher, asked Jack to tell them about it." Illustrated throughout with color images of the story. Second printing. Single vol. (6.5" by 4.5"), pp. [12], illus., in original illus. wrps.
