England, 1781. Indenture (w. 32 in. x h. 25 in.), One Sheet (vellum). In Very Good condition. Ruled in red ink and headed in bold calligraphy (“This Indenture Tripartite”), and handwritten in ink with revenue stamp, signatures, and two red wax seals. Semi-moderate age-toning with darker browning concentrated near the center. Multiple original horizontal and vertical fold lines with light creasing and heavier wrinkling at fold intersections. Two wax seals affixed at the lower margin, slightly worn yet intact. The text remains fully legible across the document.

The document comprises a conveyance and mortgage settlement between the Reverend William Horsey, Clerk, formerly of Folke and Hazelbury Bryan and then Rector of Loders (Dorset); Henry Sugg of Trent, Somerset, Yeoman; and James Hooper of Yeovil, Somerset, Esquire. The document recites an earlier indenture of 1777 and sets out the transfer and settlement of lands accordingly. Written in a fine clerk’s hand, with blue embossed revenue stamp at margin, and signed at foot by Horsey and others with wax seals attached.
