New York: Trident Press, 1968. Very Good/Very Good. New York: Trident Press, 1968. First Edition. Octavo; publisher's cloth-backed boards, tan topstain, in black pictorial dust jacket by Diane and Leon Dillon retaining original price ($5.95); 382pp. Very light shelf wear to jacket margins, faint ghost of a sticker to upper panel, corners bumped, else Very Good and sound. Inscribed and signed on title page, "For Richard / Harlan Ellison."
According to the previous bookseller, the inscription was made to fellow science fiction author and editor Richard Delap (1942-1987), who collaborated with Ellison and two others to edit The Essential Harlan Ellison, published shortly before Delap's death from an AIDS related condition in 1987. Laid in is a small scrap of paper on which Delap evidently wrote down some of his initial thoughts on this collection ("too much repetitious attention to moody detail").
