Previous bookseller's note states that this was inscribed to John Bernard Myers (1920-1987), the founder of the Tibor de Nagy gallery who hosted the young poet at his many lavish parties and who published one of Merrill's early poems in an issue of "Semi-Colon" in the 1950s.
