Bern Porter," and in a different hand, "The publisher seems depressed. Sept 17, 1947."

Lamantia's first book; scarce and here enhanced with Porter's signature, who at the time had recently finished his work with the Manhattan Project and was starting to publish books by and about California poets and artists.
