Boards show mild edgewear; spine rubbed; soiling along edges with general smudging and stain to rear. Front board gives a little but binding holding soundly. Ownership inscription to front free endpaper; Brentano's ticket to rear; a couple inoffensive stains to edges of text block; else unmarked; still a Very Good copy of Lawrence's fourth novel, which was censored in England due to its frank portrait of sexual desire and a majority of the first UK print run was destroyed.
