Original photograph of Eartha Kitt at Nyborg State Facility, 1970
- Copenhagen: Politikens Press Photo, 1970
Copenhagen: Politikens Press Photo, 1970. Vintage borderless photograph of Eartha Kitt outside the gates of Nyborg State Facility on the island of Fen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Printed mimeo snipe in English affixed to the verso.
Kitt performed for the facility's 300 inmates on August 12, 1970, in response to a letter from one of the inmates, expressing his regret at not having been able to attend a performance in Copenhagen earlier that week. As the snipe notes, Kitt stated, "I believe that [the] letter represents all the boys behind the bars [...] I think the prisoners should know that the society don't forget them."
9.5 x 7.25 inches. Very Good plus.
