Quarto; in publisher’s bright green cloth with elaborate decorations and titling in black and in gilt; vii, [i] xliv; 196 pages, followed by [8] page of publisher’s ads; with [30] leaves of brilliant chromolithographic plates; patterned papers endpapers; the front hinge has been reinforced with Japanese tissue.~~This copy has been deaccessioned from the Bournemouth Natural Science Society; the Society’s bookplate is on the pastedown, and has been lined through indicating it’s deaccessioned status; there are no external marks; the stamp of the Society is found on a number of leaves including on the verso of some plates; happily there are no stamps on the plates themselves.~. Very Good binding.
