A handsome die-cut picture book for children from McLoughlin, featuring a lion in a top hat on the front. The story is told in verse, and follows a series of anthropomorphized animals as they go to school, go on holiday, enjoy a picnic, and more. Appears to include several Aesop fables. Each page has in-text illustrations, most line drawn black and white, but with some larger color illustrations. Single vol. (13.5" by 8.25"), 6 unnumbered leaves, in-text illus., in original die-cut illus. wrps. Three copies of this edition on WorldCat (Aug. 2025).
