Gilt decoration on covers is the figure of Havelock with surround of flags. One volume with Div. VI in gilt on spine, the other Div VII. Title page of Vol II, with a grieving women praying over a dead child entitled "The Hindu Mother" followed by 8 plates w/ tissue guard then double page map of India in black and red, 397-663 (1), (4) vii. Title pages for both volumes in rear, followed by list of plates for bpth volumes, then index. The other volume has 12 plates, 305-496. Front gutter revealed in Volume 1 and first leaf sprung. Plates foxed, cloth covers worn at spine ends and corners. Still overall, a decent unsophisticated pair, not that common.
