New York: Fortune, 1938. b/w and color plates, illus., map, graphs, advts., pict. wrps. This issue of Fortune Magazine features a story about the political situation in Mexico during the administration of President Lázaro Cardenas entitled, "Mexico in Revolution " (pages 74-86, 124-140). The article includes three paintings by Diego Rivera (pages 74, 75, 82). The article is part of a series that the magazine described in the following way, "Early this year Fortune began a series of articles on South America. The later articles of that series are now being prepared, but publication of them has been deferred to make way for the most exciting of all Latin-American countries. Mexico is in the news in a big way, providing the Americas with a poltico-economic drama equivalent to those that have recently been enacted about the stage in Europe." The article includes photographs of Mexican peasants, politicians, and church goers along with photographs of Mexican factories and cities. There is also an illustrated color map of Mexico and series of graphs depicting Mexican imports, exports, and agricultural production. The cover of the magazine is a painting by Mexican artist Miguel Covarrubias.
