Original fine pen and ink and watercolor from "The Vicar of Wakefield." In the book, reproduced as plate 5. Matted, framed and glazed. Watercolor measures (10 7/8 x 8 1/4 inches; 275 x 210 mm), but probably larger under the frame. Frame measures (17 3/4 x 14 7/8 inches; 450 x 380 mm). Signed 'ARackham' on lower left corner. In a gilt frame.

Image is of three young women sitting at a table in a tavern with the Vicar. A contemporary sticker for art dealer "Arthur Ackermann & Son Inc" on the back of the frame. Also a sticker from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art on the back. Overall a very beautiful original painting.
