Mass Market PB Although virtually forgotten today, Frank Edwards was a pretty big deal in his time, "a news commentator with an enormous following, a man with a knack for showmanship and a reputation for fearless reporting." A radio pioneer, he began his career in broadcasting in 1923He began his career as a radio broadcaster in 1923 and by the late 1940s was the host of a nationally-broadcast news and opinion program sponsored by the American Federation of Labor. That particular radio gig ended in 1954, by which time Edwards had gotten deeply interested in UFOs and various psychic phenomena, and much of his later career was devoted to research and writing on these topics, as well as hosting another radio program, "Stranger Than Science." His memoir is "the racy, outspoken book of a man who ... writes the story as he saw it -- the truth, with no punches pulled."
