Basic, VA: The McClure Company, 1922. Softcover. Very Good. Softcover. A scarce edition of this book by Elmer U. Hoenshel (1864- 1940).He was an author and traveler, known for detailed accounts of journeys through the Middle East, particularly regions with biblical importance. It appears that he had a background likely grounded in theological or historical studies contributed to the thoughtful and immersive style found in the published work. The softcover book details a voyage aboard a ship called the Neptune. It appears to be a travelogue or historical account of a journey to Arctic or polar regions. In his introduction Hoenshel writes that while did not go as far north as other Americans, he knows that there is no popular treatise in America today concerning the territory visited here. This is a small brown softcover volume with faded gilt titling to the front cover along with a depiction of the arctic regions he explored. In addition to the text, there are 21 black and white photographs of the regions and sights visited. With ownership stamp of Gordon Rhodes on free front endpaper. In very good condition. Measures 4.5" x 7" with 119 pages. TRAV/092225.
