The fold-out maps included after the text of each volume make this a desirable edition of Tolkien's masterwork. Each jacket bears the familiar emblem of the One Ring and Sauron's eye surrounded by elven runic writing on the front panel and the spine, with a separate color for each volume which matches the top-stain color of each.
