Broadside; unused tent card (14.5x14.5cm) for a later iteration of the influential vocal group The Ink Spots, who had broken up in 1954, and here are led by original member Charlie Fuqua under the slightly misleading name "The Original Ink Spots." Card venue is Mickey Mantle's Holiday Inn, founded in 1957 and co-owned by Mantle, the hotel and its sports bar The Dugout proved immensely popular to the Will Rogers Turnpike crowd, doubling its room capacity soon after opening. The Ink Spots themselves were a famous group in the 30s and 40s, pre-dating rock n' roll and doo-wop, and were admitted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame as "early influencers" in 1989.
