- Norfolk, VA: WRAP, 1969

The New WRAP: Record Wrap-Up [Six broadside newsletters]
Norfolk, VA: WRAP, 1968-1969. Four illustrated broadsides and two broadsheets (27.6x21.4cm) featuring the 30 WRAP Hits for the Week, here a broken run from March 1968 to May 1969. Light wear to edges, mail folds, otherwise Very Good or better.
Broadcasting full-time to the Black communities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, and Hampton, VA, WRAP flourished for nearly 40 years, and at the time of these newsletters the station featured predominantly R&B, funk, and soul music. As well as the hits for the week, the sheets include food and health-related advertisements above promotions for the station's DJs, Mrs. Leola Dyson and "the WRAP soul-tastic five." Two examples include "The Adventures of Captain Soul" comic strip to versos. Scarce record of a flourishing Black Virginia radio station.
