The first two volumes are Near Fine; the third has a blindstamp on the bottom of the title page with the lower front corner bumped and slightly dampstained, thus Very Good. The dustwrappers all have different degrees of chipping but are quite presentable under mylar. Overall a Very Good or better set. Ninth printing of the first volume, second printing of the second, and first printing of the third, with each volume SIGNED by the former president. The first volume covering 1874-1920 is SIGNED "the good wishes/of/Herbert Hoover" on the front endpaper; the second covering 1920-1933 is SIGNED "Herbert Hoover" on the front endpaper; and the third covering 1929-1941 is SIGNED "the good wishes/of/Herbert Hoover" on the recto of the frontispiece portrait.
