Drummer Boots Ward's band was variously called the Colored Night Hawks or simply the Night Hawks and sprang from its Worcester, Massachusetts antecedent "Mamie Moffett and Her Five Jazz Hounds," which was headed by Worcester's "First Lady of Jazz." A lovely record of small town Depression-era good times when tickets went for 25 cents to the ladies and 35 to the men. .
