Provides and interesting window into how companies advertised products to Americans, and how highly thick hair was (is) valued in Western society. The items include:

"How to Retain or Regain Your Hair". N.pl.: Paul A. Thomas, 1934. Single vol. (6.5" by 4.25"), pp. 20, photo illus., in original printed green wrps. Promotes Thomas brand scalp treatments for hair loss in men and women. Includes testimonials from stage stars and orchestra leader.

"The Vitex System". New York: Vitex Hair Institute, c.1940. Single vol. (5.75" by 3.75"), pp. 16, in original blue wrps. Promotes "Vitex System" of hair loss prevention.

"Glover's Scientific Method". New York, New York: H. Clay Glover Co., Inc., 1940. Single vol. (6" by 3"), pp. [1], 10, [1], illus., in original illus. wrps with photos of happy customers on front. Promotes the product with detailed instructions for massaging the scalp and hygiene.

"I Bring You Amazing Facts About Baldness". New York: Vitex Hair Institute, 1940s. Folding leaflet measuring approx. 11" by 8.5" unfolded with many photos of happy customers using the product. Encourages men to not wear hats (apparently cold air stimulates hair growth).
