Bumped corners, some minor cracking to the joints (still sound). Modern (1940) gift inscription on front pastedown. Two early owner names (T C Murdoch & F. M. Murdoch) inked opposite "Mary Cunningham" inked at top of title page. Yet another owner mark, "J.E." (presumed ownership initials) gilt on spine. Thumbed, page corners creased from readers, well used and passed from one owner to another. Boards. First published in 1773, this cookbook has gone through several revisions. In the advertisement for this edition, MacIver notes that friends suggested adding her ideas for menus suitable for various size groups. She also includes a list of what items are "in season" all year around.
