Le soldat Allemand dit" -- French Anti-German Propaganda Postcard
- France , 1915
France, 1915. Very good. Minor toning, dust soiling, edge wear.. Color-illustrated postcard with anti-German World War I propaganda, produced in France with the goal of mobilizing public support for the War. The political cartoon on the front depicts a plump German soldier with a plethora of munitions, next to a skinny French soldier with outdated equipment. It lists the vast amount of resources owned by German forces, and asks French soldiers to respond. Measures 3.75" by 5.75". Not used/postmarked. The caption reads: "Le soldat Allemand dit: nous avons 9,659,111 soldats. 51,109 officiers. 91 aéroplanes. 105 cuirasses. 96 sous-marins. 9,221,159 fusils. Le Soldat Francais répond T.S.V.P." (recto).
