O Grady's Goat A Merry Game
- Springfield, Massachusetts: Milton Bradley Co, 1906
Springfield, Massachusetts: Milton Bradley Co, 1906. Very good. Toning, short tears, rubbing/wear, leaf detached form folding instructions sheet but still present.. A boxed game from Milton Bradley comprised of strips of uncut playing cards and a printed story. To play, one person distributes the cards among the players in piles face down. Then the player begins reading the printed story. For each blank in the story, the next player reads a word off of their card (all appear to be nouns to fit the syntax). One can imagine the endless combinations possible; the nouns include everything from "A Three-legged Stove" to "A fat bull dog" and "A bunion plaster". This set is incomplete. It includes the original folding instructions sheet and approx. forty-two (42) cards, about half of the amount called for (89). Box measures approx. 7.5" by 6.25" by 1" with chromolitho illustration of a smiling goat on the lid. Penciled child's name to instructions sheet.
