Small German Candy Container with Boy and Snowball

Germany, 1930. [EPHEMERA] [HOLIDAY] [CHRISTMAS]. A small German candy box with a boy standing on top carrying an enormous snowball. Measuring 5 1/8” tall from the bottom to the top of the small doll’s head, the candy container itself is 1 ½” high. The candy container sides are covered in a clue and gold marbled paper. The container’s white top is sprinkled with mica to mimic snow. The bottom of the container is stamped “Made in Germany.” The boy doll perched on top is dressed in spun cotton tinted tan and blue. His head is hand-painted porcelain. In his hands he is carrying an enormous spun cotton snowball. His body is attached to the base with thin metal wires up his back and across his feet. Near fine in condition.
