Mount Crawford, Virginia: Horse Shoe Spring Farm, 1946. Very good. Light toning, the occasional spot or nick.. Two (2) printed leaflets and one (1) handwritten letter, originating from a breeder of "Golden Scotch Collies" in Mount Crawford, Virginia, in the 1940s. "Golden Scotch" is an antiquated term referring to the classic sable and white coloring of collies. The letter is handwritten in ink and signed on lined paper, dated Apr. 24, 1946, measuring 8" by 5". It reports the prices of pups for sale to a prospective client, with pricing based on white markings. The "little saucy female" is discounted due to lack of white markings. Also includes a printed 5.5" by 3.5" testimonial from a happy customer, and a photo-illustrated folding leaflet pitching the breeder and showing the pups romping around the property. Measures approx. 5.75" by 13.75". Collies would later explode in popularity among pet owners after the debut of "Lassie" in 1954.
