RICHARD GORDON (1929-2017). Richard F. Dick Gordon Jr. was an astronaut, naval officer and aviator, test pilot, and football executive. Gordon was the command module pilot for the Apollo 12 mission, the second crewed mission to land on the Moon which orbited the Moon 45 times. He was picked by NASA to be in the third group of astronauts. His first space flight in 1966, Gemini 11, set an altitude record of 851 miles, which still stands as the highest-apogee Earth orbit.PS. 8 x 10. N. d. N. p. A photograph signed Richard Gordon.
