Vellum-backed, black boards, upper cover decorated in gilt and turquoise, illustrated endpapers. Spine browned with shallow loss at head. Internals quite nice. With the bookplate of author Francis de Neufville Schroeder (1901 - 1952). Generally regarded as John Austen's finest work with striking similarities of Arthur Beardsley and Harry Clarke.
