The first Mattei edition. Loreto Mattei (1622-1705) was an Italian poet and historian and arguably the greatest of the Rieti writers. His Horace was reprinted in Bologna in 1682 and again in 1686, together with the translation of the Ars Poetica, and in Rome in 1682. Not in Mills College Check List or Riedel-Horatiana.
