Los Angeles: AckermanBenson, 1988. Second Draft script for an unproduced film. From the archive of crew member Chris Scher. Not to be confused with the 2015 film directed by Emily Lapisardi, starring Maria Olsen and Bill Townsend.
Screenwriter Stephen Bonds previously made a low budget independent film under this title in 1980, the Second Draft script found here dates from 1988, and is an apparent attempt at getting a feature film made of the story.
Based on the Northern Ohio urban myth regarding the ruins of Swift Mansion, later the Light of Hope Orphanage, which alleges a fire was set killing many children and a woman, all who now haunt the ruins.
Chris Scher has worked in American films from 1994 to the present. She was a propmaker, construction accountant/estimator/buyer, and carpenter on over 20 movies, including "The Last Seduction" (1994), "Pulp Fiction" (1994), "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1994), "The Horse Whisperer (1998), "Joy Ride" (2001), and others. She also performed the same work for prestige television dramas, including "The Bridge" (2014), "Ozark" (2017), and "Yellowstone" (2018).
Set in Vermilion, Ohio.
Front wrapper integral with title page, dated January 20, 1988, noted as Second Draft, with credits for screenwriter Stephen Bonds. 99 leaves, with last page of text numbered 97. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, bound with two gold brads.
