Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: The Continental Press, 1944. Very good. Letter folds, toning to envelope.. A set of three (3) advertising circulars sent to a third grade teacher from the Continental Press in the 1940s, providing us today with detailed insight into what material was being published for the classroom c.1944. Each of the circulars measures approx. 11" by 8.5", and includes lists of textbooks and workbooks for sale by the publisher with prices and several illustrations of the publisher's bindings. Also include brief pitches and descriptions of pedagogical aims. The second leaf of the first circular doubles as an order blank, with options for ordering materials in the following subjects: Arithmetic; English; Primary/early education; educational coloring books; Spelling; Health; Record and Plan Books; Bulletin Board charts; and miscellaneous ephemera such as room decorations, maps, and hand craft activities. Also includes 3.5" by 6" business reply envelope and the original addressed 4" by 8.75" envelope the materials were sent in.
