Robin Landing: A Play in Three Acts
- Hardcover
- New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1938
New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1938. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Endpapers discolored, mostly from binder's glue bleed through, very good in very good dust jacket, toned at the spine, and with other light wear. A nice presentable copy. Inscribed by the author: "For Barrett Clark, who has written, talked and fought greatly for the theatre of his time. Stanley Young. 21 March 1938." Barrett H. Clark was an exceptionally important figure in modern American drama: aside from authoring and translating many plays, he served as the longtime literary editor for the drama publisher Samuel French, as well as director of the Drama League of America. He helped guide playwrights, such as Eugene O’Neill and Maxwell Anderson, and encouraged American dramatists to tell real stories of working-class people, using language derived from everyday life.
