N.pl: Jones Bros., Pub. Co, 1893. Good to very good. Minor dust soiling, wear and chipping to inside and outside of portfolio spine.. A set of twenty-four (24) photo reproduction prints, housed in their original publisher's portfolio, each depicting a different view of the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Issued by the Jones Bros., Pub. Co. the same year as the exposition was held, in Chicago. A nice example of the kind of commemorative ephemera sold by vendors to the public to memorialize the momentous event in Chicago's history. The set appears complete (the most prints in any other copy we have researched is indeed 24). Some of the views include: "Transportation Building"; "The Golden Door"; "The Viking Ship"; and "View Looking South-East From Electricity Building". Each print has a brief printed description of the view on its verso. Each measures approx. 8.5" by 12", and the portfolio measures approx. 12.5" by 9.25", and is made from red cloth stamped in gold on the upper board. Ink stamp of bookseller (?) to upper board with date in modern ball point pen.
