Portland, Maine: Chisholm Bros, 1893. Good to very good. Light dust soiling, with some minor chipping and surface wear/damage to parts of plates. Chipping to inside of spine.. A very charming souvenir album, published by a Portland, Maine publisher to commemorate the 1893 Columbian Exposition. Bound in original publisher's portfolio binding, it is revealed to be a multi-panel fold-out in the style of an accordion panorama. There are twelve (12) plates, each measuring approx. 8.75" by 5.5". Together the plates measures approx. 51" in length. The plates are printed in sepia and light green tones. The illustration subjects include the Landing of Columbus, the exhibition buildings, the pier, and a portrait of Columbus. Includes three pages of printed descriptions in the rear. Original publisher's binding measures approx. 9" by 6", pebbled brown paper stamped in gold, backed in brown cloth. Gilt stamped cover of the entrance to the exhibition.
