A 1934 photo-illustrated book promoting the Moscow Theatre for Children, published in English for American audiences. The Moscow Theatre for Children, now named the Natalya Sats Musical Theater, was the world's first theatre company specializing in works for children. It is famously the theatre that inspired Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf", an orchestral adaptation of a Russian folk tale. This book features large in-text photo illustrations of the theatre company in action, complete with child actors on stage, and ending with photo portraits of the organization's staff (directors, designers, composer, and playwrights). Single vol. (6.75" by 10"), pp. 85, [1], photo-illus., in original cloth boards stamped in dark blue with yellow decorative rectangle inset showing children dancing.
