Rafaela Baroni (1 November 1935 – 8 March 2021) was a Venezuelan sculptor and artist. artist who gave a voice to women and self-taught art. She was awarded several prizes, inclucing in 1988 the National Prize for Popular Art and in 2006 the National Prize for Culture, both awarded by the Ministry of Culture. She is also recognized for being the founder of the Museo del Espejo, the Centro Cultural Ojos del Búho and the El Paraiso de Aleafar house museum, all in the state Trujillo.[1][2][3]Baroni died in Betijoque on 8 March 2021, aged 85.
