New York: The S.J. Clarke Publishing Company, 1917. 1/2 leather. Very Good. The scarce 1917 1st edition of this thorough history of Bridgeport Connecticut, hugging the Long Island Sound in the Southwest corner of the State. Complete in 2 quarto volumes. This deluxe edition bound in a 1/2 dark leather over dark-green pebbled boards. 4 slightly-raised bands to each volume, bright gilt-titling along each spine. Both volumes tight and VG, with drying and a bit of chipping to the leather along the spine, and tenderness to the outer hinges. Generously illustrated as well, with dozens of crisp black-and-white photos throughout. Lovely marbled pastedowns and endsheets.
