Octavo; 939pp. Two jackets, as issued: illustrated dust jacket with Homeric bow design to spine and additional photo-illustrated jacket featuring stills from the 1967 Joseph Strick film of the same name. Green cloth stamped in gilt; topstain. Light wear to edges with a few minor nicks to bow design jacket; heavier wear and rubbing to film jacket; each a trifle toned at spine verso. Boards show light edgewear and bottom corners bumped; binding sound and pages unmarked.

A well-preserved, Very Good or better copy with two eye-catching designs. A pleasing production, praised by The Times on the bow jacket front flap thus, "That the format of a book can affect its readability has long been known. Rarely can it have been so strikingly exemplified as by the Bodley Head's new edition of James Joyce's Ulysses.
