This stain only bleeds into the fore-edge margins of the first several pages. Complete. Flake/Draper 614a? Two editions were published in 1874, one in Plano, Illinois and the other in Lamoni, Iowa. The Plano edition is considered the first and more scarce of the two RLDS editions.

An early Plano edition published by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This copy does not have a red border on the title page. The Flake entry (#611) for the Plano edition published in 1874 states, "The first edition published by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is not a reprint from the third American edition as the title indicates but follows the Liverpool stereotyped edition of 1852. UPB copy has title page within red border. Some have suggested that the red border indicates the first printing." Flake entry 614a states, "1878. (same as 1874 edition) Plano, Ill., Published by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1874 [1878?] ... Title page without red border." Therefore, using the Flake citations as a guide, this copy is most likely an 1878 edition.
