A rare example of this smallest possible limitation of the 1828 1st thus, complete in three Royal octavo volumes. #3 OF ONLY 12 COPIES PRINTED ON LARGE PAPER AND INSCRIBED (IN CONFIRMATION OF THE LIMITATION) BY THE ESTEEMED LONDON PUBLISHER WILLIAM PICKERING, WHO PUBLISHED THIS HANDSOME SET AS WELL. Bound in a full, contemporary-to-the-period, deep-red morocco by White (of 70 Piccadilly, London) and stamped as such on the verso of the front free endpaper. Lovely decorative gilt-bordering and insignia ("Toujours Propice") at the panels, offsetting title-labels and fine gilt-tooling to the compartments. A bit of faint wear at the outer hinges, very light soiling along the panels. The set remains eell-preserved and very presentable, solidly VG+. Top-edges gilt, sumptuous period marbled endsheets and pastedowns.
