Croton Aqueduct Department, 1850. Decorative Cloth. Very Good +. A sharp, well-preserved copy of the 1850 report of the Croton Aqueduct Department (one of the major suppliers of NYC water) to the Common Council of the City of New York. Clean and VG+ in its dark cloth, with bright gilt-titling and ornament, and decorative blindstamping to the panels. Mild offsetting at the front pastedown and the title page, 2 neat inscriptions (both seemingly related to the Croton Aqueduct Department). Large fold-out map ("Map of the Croton Water Pipes with the Stop Cocks") at the frontispiece, 43 pgs. of text, a fascinating Appendix (12 "financial schedules") at the rear.
