Clean and VG+ in its dark-green cloth, with light rubbing at the endsheets, a bit of glue residue to the rear pastedown and a small, discreet former owner stamp at the top of the title page. Octavo, over 100 engravings complementing the text. "Giving Outline Map of Routes to Yo-Semite and Big Tree Groves --Tables of Distances-- Rates of Fare-- Hotel Charges and Other Desirable Information for the Traveler." Given that this guide was published 20 years before Yosemite National Park's official opening in 1890, this is very likely one of the earliest examples of travel (or exploration) literature to focus on the Yo-Semite Valley.
